Project suggested by: Owego Youth Services, (607) 687-2233 For Youth Instructions, see other side. Name__________________________________________ YOUTH INSTRUCTIONS Follow the Action Steps below to complete your Done in a Day project. Before you begin, you will want to know: - Tasks—What needs to be done step-by-step?
- Time Needed—How much time will each step take?
- Who Does What—Who is going to do each task?
Important! You may need to complete more than one project to fulfill your youth court assignment. Check with your supervisor. ACTION STEPS - Check with your project supervisor for time, place, tools and supplies you will need
to design and paint signs for community-service agencies. - Contact non-profit agency to determine what the sign should say (name, location,
slogan, logo, etc.). When you work at the non-profit agency, you will get to meet the people who work there. Ask them what they do for the community. - Install the sign.
- Clean up after your work. Don’t take away from the job you have done by leaving a
mess of your own! - When you have finished your project, complete the Stop and Thinkactivity. Keep a
record of the Hours Completed, the time you spent working on the project. - Have your supervisor sign the Check Point.
STOP AND THINK - What did you do today?
- What did you learn about your community?
- What did you learn about yourself?
- If you worked as a team, did you work well together? Why or why not?
- How could you do this project better next time?
