| About Us |
|
Summary:
CentroNía is a 501(3) non-profit community-based organization that provides affordable, high quality education, professional development, and family-support services to nearly to 1,200 low-income Latino, African American, and multiethnic children, youth, and families in the Washington, Metropolitan area.
History:
In 1986, CentroNía, began offering child development services to 15 neighborhood children. For nearly 20 years, CentroNía has provided quality educational and family support services to hundreds of families. Our organization has received national recognition as a leader in early childhood education, as a model out of school care program, and as a center where parents receive the services needed to strengthen and sustain their families. In 2003, CentroNía underwent a strategic planning process that reaffirmed the merit of our service delivery model. In September 2005, three years into the strategic plan for expansion and optimizing programs, our first satellite site opened at Harvard St., NW with the Universal Pre-K Incentive Program.
