Help pass a U.S. Senate Resolution honoring Global Youth Service Day
By
Jon Camfield
Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) will introduce a resolution officially designating April 25, 2008 Global Youth Service Day and honoring young people who provide community service in our nation and around the world. This is the sixth year Senator Murkowski has co-sponsored and introduced this resolution on the floor of the Senate. Our goal is to have 50 Senators sign on as original cosponsors of the resolution, and need your help to reach that goal! Your Senators need to hear from you, their constituents, about the importance of youth service and Global Youth Service Day. It is especially important for the Senators’ offices to hear from young people about what difference service and GYSD make to them and their communities. Ask your Senator to sign on as an original co-sponsor of the Senate Resolution honoring Global Youth Service Day by April 16th. To take action and e-mail your Senator, go to http://servicevote.org/gysdresources and click on "Ask Your Senator to Support Global Youth Service Day."
