I believe that God raised up Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. for "such a time as this" and he met the challenge! I remember when he was killed with deep sadness. I gladly sign the pledge.
May God continue to bless his "dream" as others take up the cross of Christ!

Why take a road that will bring only death and violence? Why not embrace the message that Dr. King tragically died for so his death was not for nothing.
This is a re-affirmation for me. My hopes and dreams are not so different from those of Dr. King. His dream will live on forever.

By Anonymous @ Sunday, January 20, 2008 12:23 PM

we should live all days like mlk day

By Anonymous @ Sunday, January 20, 2008 2:19 PM
Throughout history, we have seen both violence and peace, and i think it seems pretty clear that violence has not solved anything. We can live in peace if everyone on the planet wants it badly enough.

I would love more titles that relate with Dr.King's Legacy here in the llibrary where I work. There are wonderful picture books that I use to begin and sustain important conversations with the students from k-5th. I would like the NEA/national education association to have a specific list with specific titles of books that are available for us to use or by. These are difficult themes but necessary. Peace begins with us at home.
