Get Into It with Special Olympics
  By Julie Mancuso

Special Olympics and Youth Service America are teaming up to offer grants of $1,000 to Special Olympics Programs across the United States. Fifteen grants will be awarded to Special Olympics Programs (state, area or county level) to design a service project that integrates Special Olympics Athletes. To learn more, download the application below. For further information, email youth@specialolympics.org. Deadline - Dec. 5, 2007.

Join millions of young people across the globe who are having an impact on their communities through service. Youth of all ages and all abilities can be involved in volunteer service projects and programs. Service projects should be youth-led and collaborate with local Special Olympics Athletes to design a service project that takes place anytime beginning January 21, 2008 (Martin Luther King Day) through Global Youth Service Day (April 25-27, 2008).
