The B.O.O.K. (Building Our Own Kids) Academy program is in need of adult and college student volunteers for the 2009-2010 academic year. The mission of B.O.O.K. is to provide a positive, safe, and quiet environment for students in grades K-8 to excel in their academic studies. Our FREE services include:
-
Homework assistance;
-
Tutoring in all subject areas;
-
Skill-building activities;
-
Computer access and training.
Dedicated, enthusiastic volunteers are needed to help with the various service areas as well as provide general administrative assistance.
The program hours are Monday – Friday (4:00 PM to 7:00 PM) during the academic year. A summer program is also offered. Volunteers are requested to commit to at least two sessions per month (days and time slots are flexible).
