Unscheduled Event

Volunteering at Hostelling International-San Francisco is a great way to meet people from all over the world while promoting greater intercultural understanding through travel.

Would you like to lead a tour of your neighborhood, share your favorite restaurant with travelers, or bring a group of hostellers to a cultural event? Volunteering here means sharing your city with people from across the globe. Currently we have several volunteer opportunities available at Hostelling International:

Tour Leader: Do you have a neighborhood or event you know others wouldn't want to miss? Lead hostellers to your favorite places in San Francisco.

Pub Crawl Leader: Some of our popular pub crawls inlcude nights out in the Mission and North Beach.

Activity Leader: Lead a class or activity in something you enjoy. Teach a cooking class, a salsa dancing class or lead an Ultimate Frisbee game.

Information Desk: Staff an information desk at one of our three hostels and give advice on traveling and getting around San Francisco.

We have three hostels, one Downtown, one in Union Square and sone at Fort Mason. Feel free to work out of whichever hostel is most convenient. Hour are also flexible.
